What Are You Doing for Lent?

If you’re still not sure, I have a powerful plan for you.
A plan that will change your life ... and the lives of your brothers and sisters in need.
People like Rami, a third grader in Ethiopia. He goes to one of our Catholic schools, and dreams of being a doctor. But Rami is often tired and hungry — he does not get enough to eat.
Or Olga, a retired nurse from Georgia. Despite decades of Communist persecution, she stayed true to her Christian faith. Now like many poor and elderly people her country, Olga depends on the liberated church for medicine and care.
Or Abraham, a seminarian in India. When he is a priest, he will go back to the jungle village where he was born to serve God and his people. But only if he can continue his studies.
Now here is my Lenten plan for you...
Pray with me for Rami, Olga and Abraham — and all of Christ’s poor in the East. Imagine their needs. Ask yourself what Jesus is calling you to do this Lent so they can live in dignity and live out the Gospel.
Then offer your sacrifice through CNEWA ... and start your Lenten journey today.
To make this holy season even more meaningful for you, I will send you a very special free booklet in thanks for your Lenten sacrifice of $10 or more:
The Way of the Cross With Pope Benedict XVI
You’ll find your prayer life immeasurably enriched by this devotion during this holy season. The Holy Father’s prayerful words will help you enter into our Lord’s passion and experience like never before the truth and hope of his resurrection.
May this Lent transform your life and sprit! May Easter find you filled with joy!
