Ethiopia is an ancient center of Christianity. It’s also a land where millions endure devastating poverty every day. Most are in their teens or younger. They’re among the poorest people in the world. And with the arrival of hundreds of thousands of refugees — from neighboring Eritrea, Sudan and Somalia — the struggle has only become worse.

It has only been intensified by a long and lingering drought. CNEWA has worked to help provide food and nourishment, particularly to schoolchildren. We have also been at the forefront of educational initiatives in the country, helping to form priests, sisters and laity — and continuing our decades-long support of the country’s superlative Catholic school system.

Donate to CNEWA, and you’ll provide Ethiopian and refugee children with books and meals at Catholic schools. You’ll support health and vocational centers, group homes for at-risk children, plus seminaries that train future priests. Caring for Ethiopia’s poor is a major mission for CNEWA, and our ability to help begins with you.
