For it truly is the sign that reveals God\u2019s face, a face of compassion and mercy, whose might is shown always and only in love. He makes himself close, tender and compassionate. This is God\u2019s way: closeness, compassion, tenderness.\u201d – Pope Francis, Christmas 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus Christ was a promise fulfilled for us – the long-awaited coming of a Messiah who longed to show us his face and to bring about \u201ccloseness, compassion and tenderness.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Help us finish this year strong by offering \u201ccompassion and tenderness\u201d to those suffering in Israel and Gaza this year. In a special way, we remember the people of Bethlehem who were forced to mark this year\u2019s celebration of our Saviour\u2019s birth in silence and sadness due to the ongoing war. We also stand united in prayer with our sisters and brothers in Armenia, Ukraine and Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
