Caritas Ukraine extends its deepest condolences to those who have lost loved ones and been affected by the recent rocket attack in Odesa on March 15th. This attack, orchestrated by Russian aggressors, targeted civilian infrastructure and resulted in the highest casualty toll yet seen. Today, the city and region mourn the loss of at least 21 lives (the number is increasing).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bombardment devastated a three-story recreational facility, and damaged at least 10 private residences, as well as a service station, a low-pressure gas pipeline, an ambulance, and firefighting vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We stand in solidarity with those who have suffered unimaginable losses as a result of this brutal act of war. The ongoing attacks on civilian infrastructure serve as a stark reminder of the relentless aggression faced by our peaceful cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Caritas Ukraine is actively responding to the emergencies resulting from Russian aggression as part of our Emergency Appeal. We are grateful for everyone’s support for our activities, as such events are not always predictable, and intervention cannot always be planned. Nevertheless, we strive to be a beacon of hope and support for those affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is yet another rocket attack on peaceful cities. Recently, significant destruction has been inflicted upon the residents of Kryvyi Rih, while Kharkiv remains constantly under rocket fire. The shelling of the frontline territories shows no signs of stopping, where Caritas Kramatorsk and Caritas Pokrovsk are operating under life-threatening conditions. Even the southern regions, where people are returning, are under threat. The aggressor seeks to obliterate Ukraine and annihilate us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the face of such tragedies, Caritas Ukraine calls upon the international community to stand with us in support of the people of Ukraine. With your assistance and prayers, we can continue to provide emergency aid to those in need. We urge you once again not to forget Ukraine in its time of need and to join us in condemning the ruthless attacks perpetrated by the Russian aggressor.<\/p>\n\n\n
