On Wednesday, May 29, Dr. Adriana Bara, CNEWA Canada National Director, was invited to present CNEWA’s work to Members of the Canadian Parliament on Parliament Hill.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Therese Dunn, CNEWA\u2019s Development Officer, and Anna Dombrovska, CNEWA\u2019s Ukrainian Program Coordinator, also participated in this event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her presentation, Dr. Bara spoke about CNEWA\u2019s current efforts to care for those suffering due to war and famine – especially in hard-hit places like Ukraine, Africa, and the Holy Land. Dr. Bara also introduced CNEWA\u2019s education, pastoral and humanitarian programs and supported her presentation with four videos underlining the variety of CNEWA\u2019s programs in Ukraine, Jerusalem-Gaza, Ethiopia and Lebanon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNEWA Canada is grateful to MP Garnett Genuis and his team, who organized the meeting, to MP John Williamson, who posted on his Facebook a picture from the meeting and a heartfelt comment about CNEWA’s work, as well as to all the Members of the Parliament who came to the presentation. They are saluted for committing their time and willingness to understand the incredible work CNEWA Canada is committed to doing and for their appreciation of the generous way in which Canadians from coast to coast are responding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MP John Williamson, representing New Brunswick, posted on his Facebook the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I had the pleasure of attending a presentation Wednesday afternoon with the Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA Canada) and Come Over and Help. These Christian charities work with local churches throughout Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We focussed specifically on their efforts to help civilian populations who have been ravaged by wars by offering them assistance and hope in difficult times. I thanked them for their excellent work and look forward to working with them to advance peace and prosperity for all peoples.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting concluded on the confident perspective that there will be opportunities in the future for collaboration between CNEWA and the Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
