{"id":16131,"date":"2025-05-14T11:35:03","date_gmt":"2025-05-14T15:35:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cnewa.org\/ca\/?p=16131"},"modified":"2025-05-14T11:36:08","modified_gmt":"2025-05-14T15:36:08","slug":"cnewa-canada-stands-for-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cnewa.org\/ca\/cnewa-canada-stands-for-life\/","title":{"rendered":"CNEWA Canada Stands for Life"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Thursday, May 8<sup>th<\/sup> : The 28<sup>th<\/sup> Annual National March for life in Ottawa on Parliament Hill<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>While news of Pope Leo XIV\u2019s election was broadcast on networks around the world, <\/strong>nearly 5,000 members of the pro-life community, travelling from all over Canada, gathered on Parliament Hill to march<em> <\/em>for life and the protection of all from conception to natural death. As a matter of fact, the annual March for Life in Ottawa is the largest annual protest on Parliament Hill. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EWTN livestreamed this event with many interviews which showcased inspiring individuals who stand for the dignity of <em>every <\/em>life.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a Catholic agency that stands for life and the protection of the vulnerable, it was an honour to represent CNEWA at this year\u2019s March for Life. I accepted an invitation to speak in an interview on EWTN and bring awareness to CNEWA&#8217;s projects that uphold the dignity of life and value those in our world who are so tragically ripped from their homes and daily lives by conflicts and hardships across the globe. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Much like the vulnerable displaced families and the horrific losses we\u2019ve seen in Gaza this past year, as Catholics, we must stand for those 100,000 children who are killed in their mother\u2019s wombs each year from abortion. Currently, Canada is the only Western nation with zero legal protection for the pre-born, meaning abortion is permitted for any reason or no reason whatsoever, up until the moment of birth. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was so powerful to witness the sharing of testimonies on the Hill and rallying together, all in attendance will \u201cmarch\u201d down the streets of downtown Ottawa, praying for the unborn and protesting the laws that allow abortion in Canada.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The theme of the <em>2025 March for Life<\/em>, gives us much inspiration as we navigate these laws and strive to uphold the dignity of life:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201c\u2026The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a person took and sowed in a field. It is the smallest of all the seeds, yet when full-grown it is the largest of plants\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>As the mustard seed may be overlooked, so might the zygote or embryo be.
