Yesterday, Thursday, 22 May, representatives from the CNEWA Pontifical Mission in Jerusalem and the German Association of the Holy Land visited the Trappist Fathers at Latroun Monastery near Jerusalem to offer support after a tragic fire.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flames ravaged thousands of bushes in the area, destroying over 12 acres of the monastery\u2019s precious olive groves and vineyards\u2014a devastating loss. This comes on top of existing challenges, including urgent upgrades to their drainage system to keep their winery operational. Now, they must also repair water and electricity networks to save surviving trees.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Trappist Fathers, who live by St. Benedict\u2019s Monastic Law, dedicate their lives to prayer, silence, and work.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
