{"id":16290,"date":"2025-06-10T14:16:20","date_gmt":"2025-06-10T18:16:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cnewa.org\/ca\/?p=16290"},"modified":"2025-06-10T14:16:20","modified_gmt":"2025-06-10T18:16:20","slug":"attack-on-cnewa-supported-hospital-in-gaza-kills-up-to-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cnewa.org\/ca\/attack-on-cnewa-supported-hospital-in-gaza-kills-up-to-6\/","title":{"rendered":"Attack on CNEWA-Supported Hospital in Gaza Kills up to 6"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem condemned an attack on Gaza City\u2019s Al-Ahli Arab Hospital and called on the Israeli Army to respect the hospital\u2019s \u201cinternationally protected sanctity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/anglicanjournal.com\/idf-attacks-anglican-hospital-in-gaza-again-up-to-6-dead-30-injured\/\">incident occurred<\/a>&nbsp;the morning of 5 June, when Israeli forces fired inside the compound, killing four journalists and two others, including a father who was escorting his son to the surgical unit for treatment from previous injuries. Four hospital staff were among 30 people injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CNEWA-Pontifical Mission has long supported Al-Ahli Arab Hospital, which also&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cnewa.org\/cnewa-supported-christian-hospital-hit-in-airstrike\/\">was hit in 2023<\/a>. Since January, CNEWA-Pontifical Mission has partnered with the hospital to provide urgent medical services.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/j-diocese.org\/wordpress\/2025\/06\/05\/statement-by-the-episcopal-diocese-of-jerusalem-condemning-todays-attack-at-al-ahli-hospital-gaza-city\/\">statement<\/a>&nbsp;after the 5 June attack, the Episcopal diocese said throughout the Gaza Strip, doctors, nurses and medical staff continued to treat people, mostly civilians, injured in the conflict.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The diocese called on international leaders to \u201cenforce the combatants\u2019 adherence to the Fourth Geneva Convention with respect to its provisions for special protections for hospitals, medical personnel, journalists and civilians in general.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The statement also asked people around the world for continued prayers for an end to the conflict, release of all captives, food for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cnewa.org\/situation-in-gaza-reaches-catastrophic-levels\/\">\u201cthe desperately hungry,\u201d<\/a>&nbsp;and the rebuilding of tens of thousands of homes and public facilities that have been destroyed.<\/p>\n\n\n  <div class=\"donate-button\" id=\"minor-fund-campaign\">\n    <button class=\"donate-modal-toggle\" data-minor-fund='Palestine' data-minor-fund-code='PR'>Donate<\/button>\n  <\/div>\n  \n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Israeli Army fired inside the compound of Al-Ahli Arab Hospital on 5 June, killing six people, including four journalists, and injuring 30.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":70080,"featured_media":16291,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[3056,69],"class_list":["post-16290","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-palestine","category-news"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v27.3 (Yoast SEO v27.3) -
