After two years of relentless war, the shelling ceased. Hostages and prisoners, released. And the families who lost their fathers and sons, daughters and mothers, can bury their dead in dignity.<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The fragile ceasefire has brought a measure of calm to Gaza. Families are reuniting. Aid convoys are beginning to move into the surreal landscape of ruin. And for the first time in months, people are daring to hope the nightmare might finally ease.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n  <div class=\"donate-button\" id=\"minor-fund-campaign\">\n    <button class=\"donate-modal-toggle\" data-minor-fund='Holy Land' data-minor-fund-code='DL'>Donate<\/button>\n  <\/div>\n  \n\n\n<p>Still, the wounds of war run deep. As displaced Gazans make their way to what remains of their homes, they find only rubble in place of their once bustling neighborhoods. Countless families mourn their lost loved ones. Thousands more, including the Christians sheltering in&nbsp;<strong>Holy Family&nbsp;<\/strong>and&nbsp;<strong>St. Porphyrios<\/strong>&nbsp;churches,<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>now face the immense task of rebuilding their lives amid the debris of concrete, glass and wire \u2014 and human remains \u2014 without electricity, clean water or sanitation. And even amid the quiet, the fear of renewed violence lingers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yet, for the first time in months, there is no bombing, and humanity presses on. Aid trucks are finally entering Gaza, and the cost of flour has dropped from $25 to as little as $2 for 2 pounds. Doctors and nurses, social workers and counselors, priests and sisters continue to treat, to heal, to listen, to sacrifice, to minister and to care for their neighbors.
