This Giving Tuesday<\/em><\/strong> invites each of us to live our faith in a concrete and compassionate way. As we look toward those who struggle in Ethiopia, families who hunger, children seeking safety and learning, communities longing for healing and peace, we are reminded that Christ calls us to be instruments of His love. Your generosity becomes a powerful expression of that call: a way to accompany our sisters and brothers who face hardship with the tenderness and hope of the Gospel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an Agency of hope and of the Vatican, we look to Pope Leo XIV as he reminds us in his homily at the Jubilee of the Poor Mass on November 16: <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn the midst of persecution, suffering, struggles, and oppression in our personal lives and in society, God does not abandon us. He reveals himself as the One who takes our side. The Scriptures are woven with this golden thread that recounts the story of God, who is always on the side of the little ones, orphans,\u00a0strangers\u00a0and widows\u00a0(cf.\u202fDeut\u202f10:17-19).\u00a0\u00a0And in Jesus, his Son, God\u2019s closeness reaches the summit of love. For this reason, the presence and word of Christ become gladness and jubilee for the poorest, since he came to proclaim the good news to the poor and to preach the year of the Lord\u2019s favor\u00a0(cf.\u202fLk\u202f4:18-19).\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

This truth is alive in Ethiopia today. In remote villages, children walk long distances to reach Catholic schools supported by CNEWA, where they receive nourishment, safety, and the chance to learn. Religious sisters provide compassionate medical care in regions where clinics are scarce. Seminarians are being formed to serve their people with faith and courage. Families, women, and the elderly receive support that restores dignity and stability in the face of overwhelming need. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you give to CNEWA today, you stand with God\u2019s \u201clittle ones.\u201d You become part of that golden thread of love and solidarity woven through Scripture and you bring Christ\u2019s closeness to those who need it most. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
