At the invitation of H.E. Bishop Paul-Marwan Tabet, the Eparch of the Maronite Catholic Eparchy of Saint Maron of Montreal, I had the privilege of participating in the Divine Liturgy celebrating the Assumption of the Mother of God at Notre-Dame-du-Liban Church in Laval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The church was filled to capacity, with more than 500 worshippers gathered for this special feast. It was deeply moving to witness once again the strong faith of the Lebanese community in Canada and to join its members in prayer. Their devotion, unity and enduring connection to their spiritual heritage offered a powerful testimony of hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My participation also provided an important opportunity to raise awareness of CNEWA and our work in Lebanon. As conflicts continue to affect families and communities throughout the region, CNEWA remains committed to accompanying those who are most vulnerable and helping as many people as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNEWA has an office in Beirut, enabling us to work closely with local churches and trusted partners who understand the needs of the communities they serve. Since the beginning of the conflict, CNEWA Canada has provided assistance through our Beirut office, ensuring that vital support reaches people affected by violence, displacement and economic hardship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This celebration in Laval reminded me that prayer and solidarity transcend borders. The faith of the Lebanese diaspora in Canada is closely connected to the hopes and struggles of the people of Lebanon. By sharing CNEWA\u2019s mission, we can invite more people to stand with the churches and communities of the Middle East and help bring compassion, dignity and hope to those facing tremendous challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am grateful to Bishop Tabet and the community of Notre-Dame-du-Liban for their warm welcome, their prayers and their generous witness of faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
