Gifts processing Clerk

CNEWA Canada is seeking a full-time Gifts Processing Associate to join its office in Ottawa, Ontario. Reporting to the Office Manager and Gifts Processing Coordinator, the successful candidate will play an integral role in processing charitable donations, maintaining donor records, and ensuring donors receive accurate and timely acknowledgements. 

Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA) is an international papal agency supporting the Eastern churches in their service to people in need throughout the Middle East, Northeast Africa, India, and Eastern Europe.

Principal Responsibilities


Gifts Processing & Donor Services:

  • Process donations received by mail, online, credit card, electronic funds transfer, and other payment methods through Global Payment application. 
  • Prepare daily donation batches and maintain accurate donation logs. 
  • Create and maintain donor records within the MissionCRM donor database. 
  • Generate and mail charitable tax receipts, thank you letters, and donor correspondence. 
  • Process recurring monthly gifts and maintain donor commitments. 
  • Scan cheques, prepare bank deposits, and maintain outgoing mail records. 
  • Archive donation batches and prepare regular gifts processing reports. 
  • Upload Stripe donations to MissionCRM database. 

General Office Support 

  • Maintain organized financial and donor records. 
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Provide administrative support as assigned by the Office Manager and Gifts Processing Coordinator. 

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Bilingual in English and French (required). 
  • Experience working with a charitable or non-profit organization is considered an asset. 
  • Excellent organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. 
  • Working knowledge of MissionCRM donor database 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. 
  • Knowledge of the Catholic Church and its mission is considered an asset. a
