On behalf of the CNEWA Canada team, and with the blessing of Archbishop Marcel Damphousse, Chair of the CNEWA Canada Board, you are invited to celebrate “Light in the East” – CNEWA Canada’s 20th Anniversary Gala on Friday, November 7, 2025.

This unforgettable evening celebrates your support of churches and vulnerable communities throughout the Middle East, Northeast Africa, India, and Eastern Europe.

Our first Gala promises an inspiring program with our Guests of Honour:

Michel Constantin, CNEWA Regional Director for Lebanon, Syria and Egypt. Michel is an advocate for dignity, resilience and hope and a key voice in crisis response efforts. He will showcase his team’s results through testimony and stories from the ground.

Joseph Hazboun, CNEWA Regional Director in Jerusalem. Joseph and his team work tirelessly in Gaza, and he will bring firsthand insights into CNEWA’s work supporting those affected by conflict there. 

The CNEWA Faith & Culture Award will be presented to Stan and Marge Owerko in recognition for their outstanding stewardship and commitment to our humanitarian and pastoral programs in Ukraine.
