As Lent soon approaches, marked by ashes and a call to conversion, we are reminded that discipleship calls us not only to pray and fast, but to walk with our suffering brothers and sisters through concrete acts of mercy.
On February 25th, commemorating the fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, CNEWA Canada invites you to join us for a special webinar in prayerful solidarity with the people of Ukraine, 12:00PM–1:00PM(EST).
We are most honored to welcome Fr. Dr. Roman Ostrovskyy, Rector of the Three Holy Hierarchs Major Seminary in Kyiv, Ukraine, a seminary close to the heart of CNEWA. Fr. Dr. Roman will share firsthand insight into how the Church continues to form leaders and serve the faithful amid war.
We will also hear from Anastasiia Hryniuk, CNEWA’s Ukraine Program Coordinator, who will provide important insights and updates on CNEWA’s current programs, the urgent needs on the ground, and how your support is making a direct impact.
During this webinar, you will:
- Hear firsthand about the realities facing families and vulnerable communities
- Learn how CNEWA Canada’s partnership with the local Church is delivering concrete, life-sustaining assistance
- Discover how your solidarity makes hope tangible
- Have a time to ask any questions on your minds and hearts for Ukraine
Dr. Adriana Bara, National Director of CNEWA Canada and webinar moderator, will also join the conversation to discuss how you can take part in supporting this urgent mission.
As the war continues, communities endure relentless hardship — winter blackouts, damaged energy infrastructure, displacement, trauma, and critical shortages of food, fuel, and medical supplies. In the midst of this suffering, the Church in Ukraine has become a lifeline. Parish halls now serve as heating stations and shelters where families can warm themselves, receive hot meals, charge their phones, and find refuge from the cold and uncertainty.
