You are cordially invited to join us for an evening of celebration as CNEWA marks its 100th Anniversary.
On behalf of the CNEWA Canada team, and with the blessing of Archbishop Marcel Damphousse, Chair of the CNEWA Canada Board, you are invited to celebrate “100 Years of Mission” – CNEWA’s 100th Anniversary Gala on Friday, November 6, 2026.
For one hundred years, CNEWA has walked alongside the Eastern Churches and the people they serve, bringing hope where there is hardship, healing where there is suffering, and reminding countless families that they are loved and never forgotten.
On Friday, November 6, 2026, we warmly invite you to join us as we celebrate 100 Years of Mission. This special evening will bring together friends, benefactors, clergy, and partners from across Canada to give thanks for a century of God’s faithfulness and the mission we have shared together.
As we celebrate this historic milestone, CNEWA Canada will present the Faith and Culture Award to His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk, Major Archbishop of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, in recognition of his leadership, unwavering witness to the Christian faith, and steadfast commitment to preserving the spiritual and cultural heritage of the Ukrainian people.
We are honoured to welcome Fr. John O’Brien, S.J., Director of the Martyrs’ Shrine, as our keynote speaker. The courage, accompaniment, and faithful presence of the Canadian Martyrs offer a powerful reflection for CNEWA as we mark our centennial. For the past 100 years, this same spirit has guided CNEWA in standing alongside the Eastern Churches as they serve communities facing war, displacement, poverty, persecution, and uncertainty.
Together, we will enjoy an inspiring evening of prayer, fellowship, gratitude, and celebration honouring 100 Years of Mission, and your generosity that has made this work possible.
We look forward to celebrating this historic occasion with you.
