Yesterday, Thursday, 22 May, representatives from the CNEWA Pontifical Mission in Jerusalem and the German Association of the Holy Land visited the Trappist Fathers at Latroun Monastery near Jerusalem to offer support after a tragic fire.
The flames ravaged thousands of bushes in the area, destroying over 12 acres of the monastery’s precious olive groves and vineyards—a devastating loss. This comes on top of existing challenges, including urgent upgrades to their drainage system to keep their winery operational. Now, they must also repair water and electricity networks to save surviving trees.
The Trappist Fathers, who live by St. Benedict’s Monastic Law, dedicate their lives to prayer, silence, and work.
We kindly invite you to stand with them.
Your generous gift will help restore the land, rebuild essential infrastructure, and renew hope for a community that has given so much through their quiet witness and faithful service. In supporting them, we care not only for a sacred space but for a living testament to the Church’s enduring presence in the Holy Land.
Please consider making a donation today. Let us join hands in faith and solidarity to help the Trappist Fathers rise from the ashes.
