“Let us contemplate the Child, let us contemplate the manger, his crib, which the angels call “a sign” for us (cf. Lk 2:12).
For it truly is the sign that reveals God’s face, a face of compassion and mercy, whose might is shown always and only in love. He makes himself close, tender and compassionate. This is God’s way: closeness, compassion, tenderness.” – Pope Francis, Christmas 2023
Jesus Christ was a promise fulfilled for us – the long-awaited coming of a Messiah who longed to show us his face and to bring about “closeness, compassion and tenderness.”
Help us finish this year strong by offering “compassion and tenderness” to those suffering in Israel and Gaza this year. In a special way, we remember the people of Bethlehem who were forced to mark this year’s celebration of our Saviour’s birth in silence and sadness due to the ongoing war. We also stand united in prayer with our sisters and brothers in Armenia, Ukraine and Africa.
We ask for your great generosity in making a sacrificial gift to CNEWA Canada before December 31.
With your help, we can continue to share the mystery of Christ revealed not just this Christmas, but everyday throughout the year.
Wishing you and your families a blessed 2024, where God’s promise and grace is poured out in great abundance in your life.
