Is CNEWA still providing aid abroad?
Yes, our mission remains the same: to accompany the Eastern Catholic Churches in their good works in good times and in bad. Although some of our projects have been postponed, our partners in the field continue to serve the temporal needs of the poor and the marginalized, as well as their pastoral needs. They are working hard to give quality humanitarian and pastoral aid, which is adapting to the new realities they are facing.
Are you accepting donations at this time?
Yes, we are still accepting your generous donations and are able to send the funds almost as quickly as before to our offices and programs in the Middle East, Northeast Africa, Eastern Europe and India.
What forms of donation are you accepting?
If it’s at all possible, please consider donating online or by phone 1-866-322-4441. However, you can still send your gift in the form of a cheque made payable to CNEWA Canada.
We are also giving people the option of sending their donations via Interac e-transfer. If you would like to explore this option, please phone our office at 1-866-322-4441 and leave your name and number or send us an email at canada@cnewa.org. Someone will get back to you and explain in more detail how you can e-transfer your donation.

Why a COVID-19 emergency campaign?
We are responding to the invitation of Pope Francis “not to abandon the suffering, especially the poorest, in facing the global crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic”. CNEWA, in collaboration with the Holy See’s Congregation for Eastern Churches, has launched an emergency campaign to care for the sick and the vulnerable affected by COVID-19 in the regions where we work – the Middle East, Northeast Africa, India and Eastern Europe.
To contribute, please visit our COVID-19 Emergency page; and to learn more, please read our press release.
