As we enter the sacred time of Holy Week, we invite you to join us in prayerful reflection on the Way of the Cross. We have prepared a special video with the readings of the Stations, offering an opportunity to walk with Christ in His Passion and unite our hearts in faith.
Please take a moment to watch and pray with us.
Your generosity and compassion embody Christ’s love for the suffering, and we are deeply grateful for your support. May this time of prayer bring you closer to the joy of the Resurrection of Christ we celebrate each year at Easter.
As we know that, when praying with our Lord’s passion and uniting our own suffering to his, it brings immense power to our prayers. We ask that you also pray for our brothers and sisters in Gaza whom, we received a tragic update about this morning – from our regional office in Jerusalem:
“I am sure you have heard about the terrible Israeli airstrike, early Palm Sunday morning, that destroyed the outpatient and laboratory wards in the Anglican “Al-Ahli Arab Hospital” in Gaza. The debris from the airstrike reached the St. Porphyrius Greek Orthodox Church which was preparing for the Palm Sunday celebration along with the local community which continue to reside in the church compound. For the second year in a row, the Christian community, as well as the whole of Gaza, will share the Agony of Our Lord in this Holy Week as the bombing continues.”
– Joseph Hazboun, CNEWA Regional Director Jerusalem
Our hearts and prayers are with those brutally affected by this war and we holdfast to the words from the Way of the Cross reflection by our Holy Father:
“Jesus, who remains with you to the end along the way of the cross? Not the powerful, who wait for you on Calvary, nor the onlookers standing at a distance, but those ordinary people who are great in your eyes, yet small in the eyes of the world. Jesus, you wept over Jerusalem; you weep over the hardness of our hearts. Touch my heart; add tears to my prayer and prayer to my tears.”
