Ethiopia in Turmoil
Surrounded by escalating violence that started in the Tigray region last fall that is now spreading to other regions of the country, tens of thousands of families in Ethiopia have had to flee their homes.
This conflict has left churches, seminaries and homes looted and heavily damaged. Thousands of families are living with fear and an unknown future as they face starvation and violence.
But in the middle of this are extraordinary stories of bravery. And often, the most selfless heroes are priests and religious sisters who don’t hesitate to minister to them.
One priest in particular could not keep himself away from his people. Despite the grave danger, he travelled to meet families, dodging gunfire, to bring Christ to the people through the sacraments, and to offer blessings and words of comfort. He is just one of many risking his life to be present to God’s people under the most difficult circumstances.
Will you please join me in supporting these brave priests and religious sisters, and the people they serve?
With your help, we can offer shelter, food, health care, and security to our brothers and sisters in Ethiopia, especially the most vulnerable like women, children and the elderly.
