David Aquije, web content manager for CNEWA, was featured in a member spotlight for The Catholic Journalist, a publication produced by the Catholic Media Association.
In addition to his role with the website, Mr. Aquije has played an integral role in shaping CNEWA’s Spanish-language presence and content. He worked on the development of the Spanish site from its conception and recently helped CNEWA launch the first two issues of ONE en español.
“As ONE magazine is CNEWA’s flagship publication, it was important to repurpose its content for the new Spanish website,” he said in the member spotlight.
Mr. Aquije’s background is in communications and journalism, and he worked as an associate editor and editor of Revista Maryknoll for 20 years before joining the CNEWA team.
While studying communications in Lima, Peru, Mr. Aquije was “impressed by the journalism faculty’s motto: ‘Seek the Truth. Make it Your Own. Die for it.’ ”
“The notion of seeking the truth changed as I realized the important role of Catholic media in seeking, living and sharing the truth of the grace, compassion and love of Jesus Christ,” he said.
