“For every child, every right” is the theme of this year’s World Children’s Day, which we observe today, 20 November.
Through its partners and programs, CNEWA is a shining light for children in the regions it serves. Whether it is access to education, food, shelter, medical care or summer activities, CNEWA’s commitment to care for children is ever-present. But there is still much more work to be done.
As conflict, displacement, environmental disasters and sociopolitical turmoil uproot the lives of children around the world, let us be advocates and agents of hope, so that there may be peace, justice and the fulfillment of every right “for every child.”
“Crisis after crisis, children around the world are being robbed of their lives and their futures,” wrote António Guterres, secretary-general of the U.N., in a tweet commemorating the day. “Children need peace, now.”
