Promoting Interfaith Dialogue

Islamic scholars from Bahrain, Jordan, Morocco, Oman, Syria and Tunisia met with CNEWA’s Chorbishop John Faris and Michael La Civita on 3 April to discuss CNEWA’s work in the Middle East and the agency’s role in promoting Christian-Muslim dialogue.

The delegation was invited to the United States under the auspices of the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program. Committed to promoting dialogue among peoples of faith throughout the Near East and North Africa, the program introduced the distinguished delegation to various aspects of religious life in the United States, the historic origins of religious freedom through immigration, religious education and the impact of religion on political life.
