Following the example of St. Francis Xavier, patron of foreign missions, Dale and Kathlene Thome of Waterloo, Iowa, are well on their way to spreading the good news in India. Through Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA) in New York, a Vatican agency supporting the work of the Eastern churches, over the years the Thomes have sponsored three seminarians and were instrumental in the construction of a church near the southern Indian city of Bangalore.
