Webinar: Middle East Cease-Fire Inspires Hope

CNEWA’s Canadian office held a webinar on Wednesday, 12 February, with Joseph Hazboun, CNEWA-Pontifical Mission’s regional director for Palestine and Israel, for updates on the cease-fire and the situation on the ground.

We would like to sincerely thank all who attended CNEWA Canada’s webinar, 12 February. We had the opportunity to listen to Joseph Hazboun, CNEWA-Pontifical Mission’s regional director for Palestine and Israel, and hear updates about how our brothers and sisters in the Middle East — most specifically in Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip — have been impacted by the cease-fire deal on 19 January.

We heard that CNEWA is very much involved in contributing to the communities in Gaza by launching psychosocial programs for children and mothers and providing medical programs through the Anglican Al Ahli Arab Hospital [the only functioning hospital in northern Gaza]. There were also updates on how internally displaced people are being sheltered, and the great need for medical supplies, clean drinking water, electric generators and medicine.

If you did not have the chance to join the webinar live, please take the opportunity to watch the recording below. We invite you to share it with those who can stand in solidarity with our partners in the Middle East, as they need our support now more than ever.

Please consider a donation to provide vulnerable individuals, families and children with the necessities listed above to give them hope for a better future.

Adriana Bara, Ph.D., is the National Director of CNEWA Canada
