Stand With Women in Crisis

May, the month of Marian devotion in our Catholic tradition, invites us to reflect on the courageous “yes” the Virgin Mary gave to God — a yes that brought her son and our savior Jesus into the world. At CNEWA, we honor that holy example by supporting women who are saying “yes” to hope, to healing and to a better future for their children and themselves — every day.
Around the world — from the Holy Land to the Horn of Africa, from Ukraine to the Caucasus — women come to CNEWA’s numerous and diverse partner organizations with little more than courage. They often place their children’s needs before their own, and those trapped in the direst circumstances need our support.
Those who have chosen life now need your help as they seek to provide for their precious children and families.
Thanks to generous friends such as you, we respond with compassionate care:
- In Georgia, the St. Barbara Mother and Child Care Center, run by Caritas Georgia, offers refuge to mothers who have escaped domestic violence. With patience, love, counseling and skill support, women begin new lives rooted in dignity and independence.
- In Ethiopia, the Mendida Medhanialem Clinic, led by the Sisters of Divine Providence, provides medical care, medicine and nutrition to malnourished children and marginalized women.
- In Jordan, the Mother of Mercy Clinic of Zerqa, operated by the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena, treats women suffering from psychological trauma and domestic abuse with care grounded in Catholic social teaching.
These are just a few of the many programs sustained by the prayerful generosity of our donor family. At these centers, mothers and their children are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve — that we all deserve! — by doctors and social workers with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by women and their families.
These programs need your help to continue. With each act of compassion and financial support, we affirm the inherent dignity of every mother and child. Together, we can lift our voices in a heartfelt plea for justice, for peace, for healing and for the protection of all those exposed to the brokenness of the world!
Please say “yes” to our calls for help.
Together, we can provide life-saving health care, break cycles of abuse and restore dignity and peace for those who have lost so much, building a better future one family at a time.
Thank you.
