CNEWA

A Global Crisis. A Shared Responsibility.

As we prepare to celebrate Easter and welcome the crucified and resurrected Christ, we do so in the company of Christians around the world. But this holy season arrives amid an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, placing immense pressure on CNEWA and our partners to respond.

With the abrupt end of U.S.-government sponsored foreign aid, vulnerable communities across the regions we serve — including Ethiopia, Jordan and countries across the Middle East and Eastern Europe — are left in the lurch, struggling to survive. As a humble agency that works through and with the local churches, we cannot meet every need. But together, we can stand in the gaps and bring hope to those who need it most.

One of the hardest-hit countries is Ethiopia, where CNEWA has provided vital food aid for decades. In a nation already suffering from severe drought, war and civil conflict, the elimination of foreign assistance has placed millions at risk.

  • 19 million children are already facing severe malnutrition.
  • Without intervention, millions more will suffer from hunger and disease.
  • Nutrition programs for school children, orphans and displaced families have already been shut down, placing increased need on CNEWA’s own feeding programs.

We cannot let this happen. Your support is essential to keeping them alive.

Likewise, Jordan has long welcomed refugees fleeing violence in Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq and Syria. Today, more than half of the country’s population consists of displaced people, and the strain on its limited resources is overwhelming.

  • Social services, once supported by U.S. aid, are now stretched perilously thin.
  • Hospitals and care networks, such as the Italian Hospitals, are reducing services due to funding cuts.
  • Families who have already lost everything now face even greater uncertainty.

CNEWA remains committed to helping the church provide for these vulnerable populations. But we need your help to respond with grace to this undeniable humanitarian crisis.

At a time when aid is disappearing, your generosity ensures that CNEWA can continue its mission of compassion and care. Through prayer, education and financial support, we can rise as one church to meet this crisis with love and compassion.

Please give what you can to help continue filling the ever-widening gaps in this international network of compassion and care. Together we can keep hope alive.

Remember — in the universal church, there is no “us” and “them.” There is only us.
