Easter 2026 — the year of CNEWA’s centennial — is marked by war, hunger, violence and the mass displacement of people in much of CNEWA’s world, such as Gaza, Ethiopia, Lebanon and Ukraine.

Even as Muslims, Jews and Christians observe Ramadan, Passover and Easter, nation states make their claims for peace by forging alliances dedicated to the use of threats, missiles, drones and the blockage of critical waterways, instead of making a commitment to dialogue and diplomacy.

Is this the path to peace in 2026?

Throughout CNEWA’s world, for so many of the people we serve, Good Friday is their lived daily experience!

Yet our Christian faith teaches us that the final word is not death, but life, not the scene of the crucifixion, but the scene of the empty tomb!

Please pray for the CNEWA teams who remain at work, offering extraordinary and heroic examples of commitment to the mission of CNEWA. Please, join us, united in prayer, and by offering your gift.

As we enter the Easter season of CNEWA’s centennial year, let us run together, in and through all the places of violence and war, to challenge all who will listen to us to be co-creators of a culture of dialogue and diplomacy that will lead to justice and the fruit of justice that is peace!
