Where Hope Persists

Across the Middle East, millions of families face unimaginable hardship. War, displacement and economic collapse have left people without homes, food, medicine and the security they once knew.
Yet even in the darkest moments, one source of hope remains: the local church.
In Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Syria, churches and parochial schools continue to open their doors to anyone in need, regardless of faith or background. In these regions where trust in government and foreign aid is low and resources are stretched beyond breaking point, the church is a place of refuge for anyone seeking safety and help to begin rebuilding their lives.
With support from generous friends like you, CNEWA is helping the Eastern churches respond every day.
In Lebanon, emergency shelters provide displaced families with safe spaces to gather, rest and find comfort, while humanitarian convoys continue to deliver clean water, food, medicine, fuel and other essentials to communities devastated by conflict.
In the West Bank, emergency assistance is reaching families whose homes, livelihoods and agricultural lands have been destroyed by ongoing extremist violence. Once-stable communities have been pushed into poverty almost overnight, leaving thousands struggling to meet their most basic needs.
As Pope Leo continues to call the world to become a culture of encounter, reconciliation, justice and peace, his message remains clear:
“Let those who have weapons lay them down! Let those who have the power to unleash wars choose peace.”
For 100 years, CNEWA has partnered with the local churches of the Middle East to bring Christ’s compassion to those suffering from war, poverty and displacement. Today, that mission is more urgent than ever.
Your support allows us to save lives, restore dignity and allow hope to continue shining in the land where Christ walked. With even a small donation, you, too, can live out the words of the Gospel and walk with these people in the land we call holy today.
Please make your gift today and help bring peace, justice, healing and hope to those who need it most.
