Give Children of War a Reason to Hope

At just 10 years old, Sasha is already an accomplished gymnast. She trains four hours a day, five days a week, and recently won a gold medal at an international competition in Romania.
But Sasha’s childhood has been shaped by war.
When she was 6, a Russian missile struck her apartment building in Odesa, Ukraine. Sasha lost her leg. Today, she continues to train and compete while navigating the ongoing challenges of growing up with a prosthesis. All while living through a war that shows no sign of ending.
This is no way for a child to grow up.
For children such as Sasha, the wounds of war are not always visible. Constant fear, displacement and uncertainty can take a profound toll on their emotional, spiritual and physical well-being.
Across Ukraine, the Middle East and northeast Africa, children are struggling to stay in school and maintain a sense of stability. In Gaza, schools have been devastated. In Lebanon, displaced children face economic hardship and limited access to education, nutrition and other basic needs.
Children should be learning, playing and dreaming about their futures — not hiding from missiles and navigating the complexities of trauma and grief.
CNEWA helps children affected by conflict access education, medical care, humanitarian assistance and psychosocial support. These programs provide the stability and healing children need to grow, learn and build a better future.
As children return to school, countless children around CNEWA’s world are still waiting for the same opportunity.
Your gift today can help provide a child with education, care and hope.
Please give and help ensure that war does not define an entire generation.
