Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA) is excited to announce our participation in the 2021 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), the workplace giving program of the federal government of the United States, which runs from September through 15 January 2022. The CFC is one of the largest and most successful workplace fundraising campaigns in the world. We invite federal employees, those in military service and retirees to support CNEWA and help those in need in incalculable ways. CFC donors can make a difference, providing help in the lives of people in need through payroll deductions. Retirees can make a positive impact by making a pledge through their payroll annuity.
For almost a century, CNEWA has accompanied the Eastern churches throughout the Middle East, Northeast Africa, India and Eastern Europe, serving the most vulnerable in hard-to-reach places. We support schools and health care centers, offer counseling and a sensitive ear, and when disaster strikes, we help find solutions where limited resources and overwhelming need collide.
With six regional offices and an expansive network of partners, our “boots on the ground” live and work among the people we are humbled and privileged to serve. Our help often means the difference between life and death. Federal employees, those in military service and retirees can provide much needed help where the church is deeply rooted even as society is threatened by ever-increasing civil strife, environmental change and economic freefall.
Whether you are a returning participant or pledging for the first time, participation in the CFC is a great way to extend your spirit of service. Did you know that new legislation allows taxpayers to deduct $300 ($600 for married couples) for qualifying charitable donations even when taking the standard deduction? Additionally, if you need to make a required minimum distribution from your retirement account you may give to CNEWA through the CFC.
