As Christmas approaches, Christians recall the sacred ground where Jesus was born.
Tomorrow, 21 December, at 9:15 a.m. EST, Msgr. Peter I. Vaccari will go live from Manger Square for the December installment of “Connections With Msgr. Peter.” Please note the time change. This weekend, he is concelebrating Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve in Bethlehem with the Latin patriarch of Jerusalem, Pierbattista Pizzaballa.
This episode of “Connections With Msgr. Peter” will welcome a host of guests, including Joseph Hazboun, CNEWA’s regional director for Palestine and Israel; Father Ibrahim Faltas, custodial vicar of the Holy Land; Rodolf Saadeh, projects manager for CNEWA Pontifical Mission for Palestine, and Laura Tarazi, grants and reports writer for CNEWA’s Jerusalem office.
Msgr. Vaccari will discuss CNEWA’s projects in the Holy Land, including Ephpheta Paul VI Institute for the Hearing Impaired, The Crèche, The Franciscans’ Boys Home, Piccirillo Handicraft Center and Terra Santa Schools of the Custody of the Holy Land.
As CNEWA continues to support institutions in the Holy Land, let us join Pope Francis in his call for peace amid the continued conflict in the region: “Violence kills the future, shattering the lives of the young and weakening hopes for peace … I hope that the Israeli and Palestinian authorities will more readily take to heart the search for dialogue, building mutual trust, without which there will never be a peaceful solution in the Holy Land,” he said after his 27 November Angelus.
At the end of the livestream program, there will be time for a Q. and A. Questions can be sent in advance to info@cnewa.org or asked in the comments during the livestream.
