CNEWA-Pontifical Mission continues to coordinate humanitarian aid in Gaza amid the conflict between Israel and Hamas. The needs are great, but through its work with local partners and kitchens, Pontifical Mission has consistently helped distribute food, potable water, medical and other aid to those in need.

“When we received information from our partners that we could provide meals to hundreds or thousands of people, we moved immediately,” said Joseph Hazboun, regional director of CNEWA-Pontifical Mission’s Jerusalem office.

According to Mr. Hazboun, Pontifical Mission is providing meals to 1,000 people in northern Gaza.

“I personally lost my loved ones to hunger,” said a resident of Gaza. “There was no water, no food and not even milk for the children.”

“The Pontifical Mission, in cooperation with numerous organizations, has been able to support us since the beginning of the war, and this is what we appreciate,” said Father Silas, priest of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Porphyrios in Gaza, which currently houses 91 displaced families.
