This Sunday, as the world marks International Women’s Day, we want to celebrate the women in CNEWA’s world who are making such a profound difference.
They come from every country and every way of life.
They are young women in Ethiopia who are learning skills that are changing lives — enabling them to support their families and enrich their communities. Some grew up as orphans; others came to the country as refugees. All were driven by a spirit of possibility and hope.
Then there are the tireless volunteers and staff members who are our partners at Caritas Armenia —uplifting the poor, giving dignity to the marginalized, offering support and care to the elderly.
And, of course, there are the countless women religious in every continent where we serve — joyful women who witness to the Gospel every day through teaching, nursing, administration and prayer.
Our world is richer because of them. And so many lives are richer, too, thanks to their generosity, their skills, and their gifts. These women have contributed so much love, time and talent — and they have made CNEWA’s mission matter to so many.
