CNEWA has been actively supporting Syrians who fled to Armenia during the war in their homeland — providing everything from food and shelter for families to clothing and education for children.
But this is only one facet of CNEWA’s care for the displaced around the world, a part of our mission that began with CNEWA’s founding and our support for refugees in the years following World War I.
In the decades since, we have helped the local churches accompany countless victims of war, violence, famine and drought in places as varied as Ukraine, Ethiopia, Iraq and Palestine — giving shelter to the homeless, food to the hungry, comfort to the wounded and consolation to those broken in mind or spirit.
Through the tireless and selfless efforts of priests, religious sisters, congregations and committed laity, CNEWA has worked for, through and with the local churches to uplift those in need and reflect to all the face of Jesus.
