Promoting Inclusion: Opportunity Through Acceptance

For his December prayer intention, Pope Francis has called for prayers for those with disabilities: “Let us pray that people with disabilities may be at the center of attention in society, and that institutions offer inclusion programs that enhance their active participation.”

Promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities is a long-standing priority for CNEWA, which has a wide range of programs that provide support, care and joyful experiences to people with disabilities. In line with Pope Francis’ prayer intention, we will share a feature video from the ONE magazine archive that highlights this mission each Thursday through December.

Below is a video that was produced to accompany ONE’s September 2021 story, “Working From the Heart Creates Harmony.”

Message de Paix (“Message of Peace”) in Lebanon cares for an overlooked population in the country: adults with special needs. The center is a place of acceptance, care, encouragement and support and offers its services free of charge, regardless of religion — and the results are moving and inspiring.
