Promoting Inclusion: Samaritan Sisters Teach Academic, Vocational Skills

For his December prayer intention, Pope Francis has called for prayers for those with disabilities: “Let us pray that people with disabilities may be at the center of attention in society, and that institutions offer inclusion programs that enhance their active participation.”

Promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities is a long-standing priority for CNEWA, which has a wide range of programs that provide support, care and joyful experiences to people with disabilities. In line with Pope Francis’ prayer intention, we will share a feature video from the ONE magazine archive that highlights this mission each week through December.

Below is a video that was produced for ONE’s March 2022 story, ‘Go and Do Likewise.

When families in Kerala, India, feel ill-equipped to offer adequate care to their children with special needs, they turn to Snehadeepthi Special School, run by the Samaritan Sisters, whose mission, inspired by the famous parable Jesus recounts in the Gospel of Luke, is to care for the marginalized populations.
