Welcome the Child

For a child forced from home by war, poverty, persecution or disaster, the journey to safety can be frightening and uncertain.

Millions of children around the world are displaced from their homes and separated from their families. Many face hunger, exploitation and trafficking — simply because they are vulnerable.

But they are not forgotten. God hears their cries.

In his message for the World Day of Migrants and Refugees, Pope Leo XIV reminds us that every displaced child calls us to an act of humanity and faith: to welcome, protect and encounter Christ in the most vulnerable.

Across the world, the church is answering that call.

In Ethiopia, for example, families displaced by conflict, drought and poverty struggle to provide even the most basic necessities for their children. At the Medhanealem Medium Clinic, the Sisters of Divine Providence provide vulnerable children with medical care while helping parents gain the support they need to keep their families healthy.

Your gift can help the church welcome and care for children who have nowhere else to turn.

As humanitarian needs continue to grow and government aid is reduced, CNEWA and its local church partners are facing greater demands with fewer resources.

A gift today can help provide children and families with food, health care, protection and hope.

Whether you give once or become part of the Communitas CNEWA family through a monthly gift, your generosity helps the church remain present to displaced children and their families.

Please open your heart to these children. Walk with them. Pray for them. And help provide the care they need to build a safer, more hopeful future.
