In Ethiopia, if a woman’s husband abandons her, she often ends up back in her home village, with no income to support her children.
“Most mothers are displaced from different places for different reasons,” says Sister Dinknesh Getachew, director of the Medhanealem Medium Clinic in Mendida, Ethiopia. The clinic offers health care and nutritional support for mothers and children.
“Those who cannot stand are now able to stand because of this food,” says one grateful recipient.
