CNEWA presented John J. Studzinski, K.S.G., with the Faith & Culture Award at its 5 December Healing & Hope Gala Dinner.
As the cofounder of the Arise Foundation, Mr. Studzinski is an advocate and champion of survivors of trafficking. Arise works with groups on the ground, many of them religious sisters, in fighting trafficking head-on through prevention, care for survivors and forming community-oriented leaders to address trafficking at the local level.
“I’m grateful for the recognition of this award, of what it represents in terms of the work of religious sisters,” he said upon accepting the award at the gala. He also underlined the “importance of society to focus on this issue.”
A man guided by his deep faith, Mr. Studzinski cited Mother Teresa, calling on each guest to change the world “one person at a time.”
“If each one of the people in this room just helps one life, then you’ve made an enormous bit of difference,” he said.
