In Taybeh, the last entirely Christian village in the West Bank, people stay up at night guarding their property from Israeli settlers.
“We are facing very huge restrictions — military restrictions, occupation and now the fanatic settlers who still also are occupying the land, fencing the land, and also they’re attacking our land,” says Father Bashar Fawadleh, parish priest at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church.
“We’re still here to tell … all the people: This land is ours, this church is ours, and we have to be the light of the world from this land to the [world],” he says.
This video, shot by Samar Hazboun and edited by Yad Abdulqader, shows some of the damage settlers have caused and talks to people affected.
